Hey! Haha okay so I've had like 0273502753 blogs, and I'm hoping I can actually keep to this one and write in it at least once a week or so. I'm Olivia :) I'm about to be a junior in high school. From NorCal. I'm full Chinese, but I guess to some people I don't look it. I have an older sister and an older brother. My sister, Carol is married in Hawaii and has the cutest baby boy. My brother, Luke got back from his mission last year in October. And has joined the Army Reserve to be a language specialist? I think. Oh, & I'm Mormon.
So far this summer, I've had so many amazing experiences, I don't have time to write all of them right now, but here's the most current one.
Just yesterday I went to Youth Conference for Oakland, Concord, and Napa stakes. We went to the Santa Cruz mountains at Camp Lehi. It was crazy intense fun! Okay, so Thursday night I took bart to Harris' house where I spent the night. We had to be at the interstake center at 6:30 am! Gah so it was me, Harris and Ronika all together driving down with Harris' dad. We slept most of the way and got lost. It was so scary. So when we get there the registration people weren't even there yet. It was pretty complicated for us three. And I guess we looked pretty high maintenance because of the way we dressed that day. We had our lunch, our speaker spoke, had some workshops, down time, dinner, another quick talk, and our dance. It was pretty fuuun. I met a lot of cool new people. The quick talk though, the speaker's wife spoke. It was intense. About how she was in a almost fatal accident but survived.
The story was that before she was born her father's first wife had died because of a blood clot, and her older siblings sorta fell away because they thought how could there be a god, if they let our mother die? And her father remarried and her patriarchal blessing had said that her example would help determine her siblings' salvation. How intense is that?! Okay, so she was on her way to college, her little brother who had just gotten his driver's license was driving and she was in the back lying down when her brother did a sharp turn and the car started overturning and she was thrown around like a rag doll. Her head sorta got scalped, her knee scraped off and a pole went through it, her left hand crushed. (it was hard for me to listen, I hate listening to this stuff.) And when the car finally stopped turning she said it was like an angel had placed a pillow under her head and so many miracles happened after. A mother-daughter nurse team was right behind them and if they hadn't had an IV in their trunk she wouldn't have survived. A fireman on the scene saw their Book of Mormon fly out and he turned out to be LDS, he said he would've given her a blessing except he was on duty so he couldn't. And eventually she got one. And how her pinky and ring finger were black, because they were basically dead and they'd have to get amputated but when the doctor's unwrapped it, it was okay! And veins were running through and her fingers were white! Truly miraculous! And how one of her sister's had a dream that she was playing the piano with all her fingers! Seriously it was so amazing! I'm sure there were a lot more miracles that happened, but she didn't tell them all. I find it so amazing how faith and our church and everything plays such a huge part in our life.
I can't wait till I get my patriarchal blessing later this month!
The next day we hiked from our camp down the hill it was steep and it sucked. We did some obstacle courses and I didn't do some of them :) The hike back, I died. The end. haha and Marielle and Luann came down and took us home. I was SOOO dirty, that shower was the grossest ever! I'm so glad I'm home. OH and I got stung on my pinky by a yellow jacket or a bee or something, but it hurts! Arrite, that's all for now. Bye for now!
